Turn a photo into a drawing or anime with AI
Upload a portrait, a photo of your pet or a couple and pick a style: pencil, watercolour, anime, comic. The AI draws from the photo, keeping the facial features, pose and light. Edits in words: “make the lines thinner”, “add a city background”.
Image generation comes with plans from Lite at ₽690. One drawing costs 1 to 6 units of energy. Your photo and prompt are kept until you pay.

The style changes, the person stays recognisable. This is what the results look like for one original portrait.

The examples were made by AI for demonstration; the people in them are fictional.
A pet portrait from a photo
Cats and dogs come out even better than people: the AI does not need to nail subtle facial features, and it repeats the coat, ears and expression precisely.
Before
AfterA home photo on the sofa → a ceremonial oil portrait in a gold frame: the same coat and expression
- A photo where the whole face and both eyes are visible. A shot from behind or mid-jump gives you a random animal.
- Name the breed and distinctive marks: “a white patch on the chest”, “one floppy ear”. Then the AI will not “fix” them.
- Popular pet styles: oil in a frame, watercolour, 3D cartoon, “in a general’s uniform” or “in space”.
- A series: ask for three pets in the same style for a shared frame on the wall.
A portrait as a gift: printing on canvas
Drawings from photos are often ordered for birthdays, weddings or anniversaries. For a print shop to print one without losing quality, the proportions and resolution of the file matter.
| Canvas size | Ratio | Minimum for print |
|---|---|---|
| 30 × 40 cm | 3:4 | 1800 × 2400 px |
| 40 × 40 cm | 1:1 | 2400 × 2400 px |
| 40 × 60 cm | 2:3 | 2400 × 3600 px |
| 50 × 70 cm | 5:7 | 3000 × 4200 px |
| A6 postcard | ≈ 5:7 | 1240 × 1748 px |
Set the ratio in the prompt
Add “3:4 format” or “1:1 square” so that nothing gets cropped at the edges in print.
Increase the resolution
Once you like the drawing, write “upscale to 4000 pixels on the long side”. That is a separate generation, another 1–2 units of energy.
Leave margins
Stretching on a frame needs 2–3 cm of spare edge: ask to “keep anything important away from the edges”.
How to make it look more like the original
The main complaint about a drawing from a photo: “it is pretty, but it is not me”. Here is what affects that.
The source: the face large and in focus
A head-and-shoulders portrait in even light works better than a wide party shot. The more pixels on the face, the more accurate the nose, eye shape and smile.
Name the features in words
“Keep the mole above the lip, the thin-rimmed glasses and the grey at the temples.” What you name, the AI will not simplify for the sake of style.
Reference and model
Attach an example of a drawing you like. For high-precision portraits choose GPT Image 2 (6 units of energy); for quick stylisations Nano Banana 2 Lite at 1 is enough.
For one portrait or a series of gifts
Image generation is part of the paid plans. The free Starter plan is enough to discuss the idea and pick a style in text.

ChooseFAQ
Can I turn a photo into anime for free?
Image generation, anime from a photo included, is available from the Lite plan at ₽690. The free plan covers only text scenarios.
Will the AI make a caricature kind rather than mean?
Yes, if you say so: “a friendly caricature, make the head slightly bigger, emphasise the smile, no distortion of the face”. Control the exaggeration with “a little” or “more”.
How long does a drawing take?
Usually 20–60 seconds depending on the model. Edits after the first result take as long.
Can I get a character for a game or stickers?
Yes: ask for “a full-length character from the photo, a neutral background, cartoon style”, then “the same character with three emotions”. A 1:1 square is handy for a sticker set.
Can it draw several people from one photo?
Yes, if the faces are fully visible. In a group of four or more, each likeness will be weaker; it is better to draw people in pairs or use a wide shot in a less detailed style.
What format is the result in?
PNG or JPG. For print, ask to upscale the image to the size you need — the resolution table is above.
