Name from a photo: the AI looks at your pet and suggests a name

How it works
Online lists are the same for everyone, but your kitten has a white spot on its nose and a habit of sleeping in a slipper. Upload a photo to the chat and ask for names “based on what you see”: the AI describes the coat, the expression, the size of the ears – and ties the names to those details.
It is a text scenario with a photo, and it is free. More on what the AI can read from a picture – on the photo analysis page.
Tap a button and the request fills the form above; attach the photo once you are in the chat.
Dog names for boys, girls and small breeds
A dog has to hear its name from across the park and tell it apart from commands. So trainers have a simple rule: one or two syllables, a crisp consonant at the start, a vowel at the end.
For boys
Max, Jack, Archie, Bruno, Duke – short, with a hard start, they work well alongside commands. Big breeds suit “weighty” names: Baron, Zeus, Tyson. But the park already has three Zeuses – ask the AI to avoid the most common ones
For girls
Bella, Daisy, Luna, Juno, Tilly – soft, with a vowel at the end, easy to stretch when calling. Working and hunting girls get crisp names: Jett, Kira, Echo. House dogs get warm ones: Rosie, Lulu, Martha
For small breeds
Biscuit, Peanut, Button, Chip, Bean – about size and personality rather than fierceness. A small dog does not need a “small” name for life: the puppy grows up and Tiny stays. Better Button or Pixie – they sound cute at ten too
Kitten and cat names: for a boy, a girl, by coat color
A cat needs a name less than you do: it will answer when it feels like it. But you will say the name a hundred times a day, so the whole family should like it.
Boy kitten
Tom, Oliver, Leo, Mars, Milo – classics with a full and a pet form: Oliver for the vet, Ollie for the kitchen. A dignified cat suits Duke or Baron, an affectionate one Benji.
Girl kitten
Kitty, Cleo, Lily, Mabel, Luna – names for girl cats that do not get old. For something prettier, ask for “rare but easy to say”: Juno, Willa, Hazel. The key is two syllables and a soft sound.
By coat color
A gray kitten – Smoke, Fog, Misty, Pebble. A black one – Coal, Noir, Inky, Soot. A white one – Snowy, Cotton, Pearl. A ginger one – Rusty, Copper, Pumpkin. Switch the coat in the generator – the first three names on the list are always about the color.
Parrots, hamsters, rats, rabbits – they deserve a proper name too
For a parrot
Budgies and cockatiels learn to talk, so pick a name the bird can repeat: crisp sounds like “k”, “p”, “ch” and “r” – Kiwi, Charlie, Coco, Polly, Romeo. For a girl parrot – Pixie, Peaches, Zuzu.
For a hamster or rat
A hamster will not answer to its name, but a rat may well. Names about size and food work best: Hammy, Biscuit, Peanut, Sesame, Bean, Button. For a rat, something cleverer: Martha, Gus, Archibald.
For a rabbit, turtle or hedgehog
Pick “Other” in the generator and say which animal in the chat: the AI matches the name to the animal’s pace. A turtle gets something slow and long (Archibald, Matilda), a hedgehog something short and prickly (Spike, Chip).
Easy to call? Check the name before you choose
Three rules trainers use to weed out names: no longer than two syllables, nothing like a command, easy to stretch when calling. Type an option – we check it against these rules right here.
One more test is the family one: the name should not match the names of people at home or next door. Calling a dog named Sam across the yard gets awkward.
- 2 syllables – easy to call, a dog learns it fast
- Nothing like the commands “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “come” or “no”
- A hard ending – sounds crisp, like a recall; the family will soften it with “-y” or “-ie” at home
The check is simplified: it counts syllables and compares the start with common commands. The final call belongs to whoever will be calling.
FAQ
How do I name a boy kitten so it is not like everyone else’s?
Pick “Cat or kitten”, “Boy”, the coat and personality in the generator, and add “no Tigers or Smokeys” in the chat. The AI suggests 20 options with reasons – usually three or four stand out, and the family picks from there.
Which names suit small dogs?
Short and crisp: Button, Chip, Pixie, Biscuit. Avoid a name that is only about size – Tiny or Peewee sounds odd a year later if the dog has grown to fifteen pounds.
What should I name a gray kitten?
Smoke, Fog, Ash for a boy; Misty, Pebble, Mouse for a girl. Switch the coat to “Gray” in the generator – the first three names on the list are always about the color, the rest about personality and style.
Can I get a name from my pet’s photo?
Yes. Upload a photo to the chat and ask for names based on what the AI sees: coat, markings, expression. It is a text scenario with a photo and it is free on the Starter plan.
Can you name a parrot or a hamster too?
Yes, the generator has “Parrot”, “Hamster or rat” and “Other” for rabbits, turtles and hedgehogs. For a parrot the AI picks a name with sounds the bird can repeat.
How do I know a name is easy to call?
One or two syllables, nothing like the commands “sit”, “no” or “down”, easy to stretch when calling. Type your option into the check on this page – it tells you what is off, and the final decision is yours.
Is it free?
Yes. Names from a description and from a photo are text requests, part of the Starter plan with 30 units of energy. Only a drawing of your pet or a card with its name is paid – from Lite at ₽690.
