Name your channel, group chat or community
Pick the platform, say what the channel or chat is about and set the mood – six names appear below, the way they will look in a chat list. For Telegram and social media, each one comes with an @username and a length check.
We only check the length (5–32) and the characters: Latin letters, digits, underscore. Whether the handle is free, the app itself will tell you.
Prompt sent to the chat: «Come up with 15 names for a Telegram channel. About: notes on coffee and the coffee shops in my city. Mood: aesthetic, calm, no exclamation marks. For each, one sentence on why it fits, plus an @username option of 5 to 32 characters, using only Latin letters, digits and underscores. Do not check availability – I will check it in the app myself.»
Names and descriptions are a text scenario, free on the Starter plan (30 units of energy). A channel avatar image comes with plans from Lite at ₽690.

The preview is built from ready-made samples for a typical topic. In the chat, the AI comes up with names for your topic and explains why each one fits.
Naming a channel on Telegram and social media
A channel has two names: the one people see in the chat list and the handle after @. The first can have spaces and any language; the second is Latin letters, digits and underscores only, 5 to 32 characters on Telegram. It’s nice when they match in meaning, but not required.
- Name + topic
- Example: “Tess & Coffee”, “Dan & Gadgets”
- Who it suits: A personal blog where the author matters more than the topic
- Topic + format
- Example: “Café Reviews”, “Tech Under $100”
- Who it suits: A channel people find by searching in Telegram
- Image or metaphor
- Example: “Light Roast”, “Quiet Review”
- Who it suits: An author’s channel with a mood that grows through shares
- Honest self-deprecation
- Example: “Latte Again”, “Unboxed & Regretted”
- Who it suits: An entertainment channel or a lively social media blog
What to add to the request
The topic and post format: “short notes once a day” or “long reviews once a week”. Who you write for. If the channel lives on another platform, say so – handle rules differ there. Want names in another language? Ask for “half in Spanish, with a translation”. After the list, pick three and ask for a two-line channel description for each: you need it right when you create the channel.
Naming a chat with friends, coworkers or family
Only your people see a chat name, so in-jokes are fair game here. Tap a card – the generator above switches to that chat and mood.
Chat with friends
The names that last are about how you met (“Since Freshman Year”, “Roommates Forever”) or about the chat’s role in your life (“Board of Directors”, “Support Group”). Tell the AI how many of you there are and how long you’ve been friends.
Work chat
If a team has several chats, their names should differ from the first word: “Marketing – Tasks”, “Marketing – Urgent”, “Marketing – General”. An informal team chat can be playful, but so that a manager who gets added later isn’t surprised.
Family chat
A family chat name is usually close at hand: the surname with a twist (“The Johnsons & the Cat”), a shared place (“The Cabin Calls”) or a joke three generations will get (“Mom Reads Everything”). For a chat with kids, pick a kind mood.
Naming a community or an online group
People find a community group through the platform’s own search, so the name needs the topic in the words people search for: “weekend hiking”, “Eastside parents”, “Austin swap and sell”. A clever metaphor works worse here than on Telegram: nobody types it into a search bar.
A good pattern is topic plus city or format: “Weekend Hikes: Hudson Valley”, “Day Hiking Club”. Save the emotion for the cover and the description. Ask the AI for ten names “for search” and five “for mood” – and compare.
- The topic in the words people search for
- Why: Group search looks at the name first
- City or neighborhood
- Why: Filters out people you’re not for and draws in your own
- Format: club, swap, chat, events
- Why: People know what’s inside before joining
- No date or number
- Why: “Class of 2024” ages in a year, and renaming costs you recognition
Naming a personal blog or account
For a personal blog, the name is you: your name, what you do, your character. Three approaches people ask for most: one built on your own name, a pretty name for a girl’s blog, and something evocative. Pick one – on the right you’ll see examples and a ready request; swap in your name and topic.
If you need a handle for a game or a personal profile rather than a blog, there’s a separate page: come up with a nickname.
- Anna Writes
- Notes from Anna
- At Anna’s Place
«Come up with 15 names for a personal blog by Anna: about home, cooking and life in a small town. Options with the name in different forms, warm, without the word “blog”. For each, an @username of up to 20 characters.»
You have a name – now dress up the channel
The AI can draw an avatar for the chosen name in the same conversation: “make an avatar for the Light Roast channel: a cup, warm light, round, no text”. Images come with plans from Lite at ₽690, one picture costs from 1 unit of energy. The channel description, the pinned message and the first post are text, which means free.

FAQ
What should I name my Telegram channel?
It depends on how people will find you. Through search – the topic in the words people search for: “Café Reviews”. Through shares and recommendations – something with a mood: “Light Roast”. In the generator, pick Telegram, describe the topic and ask for both kinds.
Will the AI check whether the channel name is available?
No, whether a handle is taken shows only in the app when you create the channel. The AI and the generator check just the length and characters: 5 to 32, Latin letters, digits, underscore. Ask for three handle options per name right away – one of them is bound to be free.
Can I get channel names in another language?
Yes. Add “in Spanish” or “half of the options in French” to the request – the AI adds a translation and explains how the name reads, so subscribers don’t stumble over it.
How do I name a chat with friends so it’s funny?
Tell the AI your shared story: how long you’ve been friends, which joke keeps coming back, where you usually meet. That’s how you get names like “Board of Directors” or “Urgent, Important, Gossip” – funny for your crowd and nothing crude.
How do I name a family group chat?
Pick “Family chat” and give your surname, who’s in the chat and what you mostly write about. The AI plays on the surname, a shared place like the cabin, or a habit – “Mom Reads Everything”. For a chat with kids and grandparents, a kind mood works well.
How is a community name different from a channel name?
People find a community through the platform’s own search, so the name needs the topic in the words they search for, plus a city or format. A clever metaphor works better on Telegram, where subscribers come through shares.
Is it free?
Yes. Names, handles, descriptions and first posts are text requests and are part of the Starter plan with 30 units of energy. Only images are paid: an avatar or cover from Lite at ₽690.
